Congratulations to Mary L. McDonald, senior center director and retired AAA board member, who has been selected as one of 12 honorees to be inducted into Ohio Department of Aging's Ohio Senior Citizens Hall of Fame in 2018.

The Area Agency on Aging Foundation is pleased to welcome our newest board member, Cody Albert. Cody currently serves as the Marketing Manager at OhioHealth. Cody brings both knowledge and passion for community relations, fundraising, healthcare strategy, and marketing and communications. The addition of his expertise to our board will help us continue to meet the needs of our growing population in North Central Ohio.

OHA applauds Cody Albert from OhioHealth Shelby Hospital, a 2018 Health Care Worker of the Year nominee. Cody is responsible for marketing and advertising efforts in Richland, Crawford and Ashland counties. He has a contagious passion that draws others in and makes them want to be part of things as well. Cody devotes a great deal of his time to engaging with the community. When he took on the role of chair of a local community festival called Shelby Bicycle Days, he successfully transformed it from an event that was losing money to a profitable festival that runs like a small business unit. A 2013 Innovations Winner, n4a Aging Innovations & Achievement Awards - The Ohio District 5 Area Agency on Aging, Inc. (OD5AAA) Board of Trustees established the Area Agency on Aging Scholarship Program in 2009. The Board determined the scholarship program would not only assist young college students in the service area who are challenged by the costs of education but would also foster educational growth in the community, highlight the value of education and careers in the Aging Network, and help OD5AAA develop relationships with higher education institutions and area healthcare professionals.
