The Board of Education recognizes and respects the message communicated by Ontario voters in the May 5 election.

Accordingly, no funding request for Master Facilities Plan projects will be placed before voters in November 2026 or in the foreseeable future.

💵 Ontario Local Schools continues to prioritize efficient operations and responsible financial management. The district’s per-pupil administrative costs are $1,815, making them the third lowest in Richland County among nine school districts and the 117th lowest in Ohio out of 606 school districts statewide.

Across Richland County, per-pupil administrative costs range from $1,676 to $3,993. By maintaining low administrative costs, Ontario Local Schools is able to direct more resources toward classrooms, student opportunities, and programs that support student learning and success.

Ontario Middle School seventh-grade ELA teacher Kellie Ritchey has officially earned her doctoral degree in Curriculum and Instruction: Special Education from Liberty University and is now officially Dr. Kellie Ritchey!

This incredible accomplishment reflects years of dedication, perseverance, and a deep commitment to both education and her students. Even while continuing to pour into the lives of our Warriors every day, Dr. Ritchey remained committed to growing professionally and personally through lifelong learning.

📝 Despite having the lowest per-student revenue and the lowest per-student expenditures in Richland County, Ontario Local Schools earned the highest Performance Index score in the county at 95.2.

The Ohio Performance Index measures how well students perform on state assessments across all achievement levels, reflecting the overall strength of student academic performance. Throughout Richland County, there is a 28-point range in Performance Index scores, with Ontario at the top of the county’s range. 📊

Ontario’s results reflect the district’s commitment to academic excellence, strong instruction, and responsible stewardship of taxpayer resources.
