Safety FIRST!

Sometimes making a difference doesn’t require a big gesture. Sometimes, it’s as simple as making room.

Look around the lunch table. The classroom. The playground. Practice. An activity. Is someone sitting alone? Standing off to the side? Looking like they’re not quite sure where they belong?

➡️ Invite them over. Save them a seat. Ask them to join. Start a conversation.

You may never know how much courage it took for someone to walk into that room. Or how much one simple invitation could mean to them. 🫶

Warriors, let’s be the kind of people who notice. The kind who make room. The kind who make sure others know:

Starting at a new school can bring a mix of excitement, nerves, and plenty of questions, so our Warrior Leadership Conference (WLC) helped make the transition a little easier by sponsoring a welcome breakfast for students new to Ontario High School. 🍩 🥛

Our guidance counselors and principals welcomed the group, while WLC members Zak Ramos and Kennedy Sapp shared advice, encouragement, and a student perspective on life at OHS.

We’re glad you’re here, and we hope you have an incredible year!

Sometimes, you just know when you’ve found the place you’re meant to be. For Emma Maguire, a new Intervention Specialist at Stingel Elementary, that place was Ontario. ❤️

Emma first became part of the Ontario community while completing her student teaching in the district. It didn’t take long for the experience to leave a lasting impression.

“I instantly knew it was truly the right place for me. From the very beginning, I felt so welcomed and supported by the staff, and I loved the positive atmosphere throughout the school.”

During her time here, Emma saw firsthand the care our teachers have for their students and the way staff members work together to help every Warrior succeed. That sense of teamwork and belonging made her want to stay and begin the next chapter of her career right here at Ontario. 🌟

🫘 What can 20 beans teach you about money? Turns out, quite a bit!

Students in Mrs. Rhodes’ Personal Finance class put their budgeting skills to the test with the Bean Game, where 20 beans represented their available income. Students had to decide how to divide their limited resources among different expenses and quickly discovered that every financial choice comes with a trade-off.

Then came the part every budget eventually encounters: life happens. 😅 Unexpected challenges forced students to rethink their plans, move their beans, and decide what mattered most.

It may have been a game with beans, but the lessons were very real: when money is limited, knowing your priorities matters. 💵

Ontario already felt like home for Emily Clevenger, a new seventh-grade science teacher at Ontario Middle School. Now, she gets to experience the district in a whole new way! 🧪 🔬

Emily’s connection to the district began as a parent. Watching her own children enjoy school, grow, and have positive experiences at Ontario gave her a firsthand look at the community she would eventually choose to join as an educator.

“I chose Ontario because I already felt connected to the district through my own children. Seeing how much they enjoy school and the positive experiences they’ve had made me excited to become part of the district as an educator, too.”

Now, Emily gets to help create those same positive experiences for the students who walk into her science classroom each day.
