As a reminder, the Oologah Police Department does have an office number to contact for questions, complaints, or other administrative requests. However, should you need Police response at any time of day or night, you can call 911 for emergencies or Central Dispatch for non-emergent response. The office line is not staffed outside of business hours. You can also file a report for non-emergency incidents that have occurred within the town limits on our website. Tomorrow marks the first day of school for our Oologah Talala Mustang students, and we want to remind everyone to slow down and stay alert as our students head back to class.

Please remember: School zones are in effect, so obey all posted speed limits. Stop for school buses with their stop arms out as required by law. Be patient with parents dropping off and picking up students. Watch for children and teens crossing the streets, walking to school, or riding bicycles. Put the phone down and keep your eyes on the road.

For many young drivers, this is still a new routine. A little extra patience and caution can go a long way in keeping everyone safe.
To our new drivers: Slow down!
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, 39% of male drivers and 20% of female drivers in the 15- to 20-year-old age group involved in fatal traffic crashes in 2024 were speeding — the highest among the age groups.

Let's work together to make sure every student, parent, and staff member arrives safety at school and back home.

This week marks the start of a brand new school year for our Oologah-Talala Mustang district! For many children, the first day of school is filled with excitement, new teachers, new friends, and fresh opportunities.

✏️ As students head back to the classroom, we ask all drivers to do their part to keep them safe:
Slow down and obey all posted school zone speed limits, watch for children walking or biking to school, and remember that it is the law to STOP for school buses when their stop arm is extended and red lights are flashing.
No matter where you’re headed, the rule is the same: when the stop-arm is out, you stop. 🛑

🚔 Our officers will be out enforcing these traffic laws with zero tolerance. Let's work together to ensure every student starts and ends the school day safely!

As you prepare for the upcoming school year, don't forget to double check your child's carseat to ensure a safe ride to and from school this year. As children grow, their needs for safe seats change.

In 2024 alone, the 8- to 12-year-old age group had the highest number of passenger vehicle occupant fatalities (193) among children in traffic crashes. This age group is often found to be using the wrong type of restraint for their age and size. Moving a child passenger into a booster seat or adult seat belt before they are the right age and size can increase the risk of injury and death.

Just a friendly reminder, it is against Town ordinance to leave grass clippings or other rubbish on the roadway within town limits. Violation of this ordinance could result in a fine.

SECTION 8-115
UNLAWFUL TO DEPOSIT RUBBISH
It is unlawful for any person to throw, place or deposit any rubbish, trash, slop, garbage, filthy substance, grass, weeds, trees, brush or any other refuse or waste matter in any street, avenue, alley, or in any ditch or watercourse, or upon the premises of another, or upon any public ground in this Town.

You have less than an hour to visit us at Jimmy's Egg in Owasso to help us support the Special Olympics of Oklahoma.
Oologah Police Department's Chief Randy Davis, Officer Kevin Tillotson, and Officer Logan Bell, along with officers from Tulsa County Sheriff's Office (TCSO) and the Chouteau Police Department are serving customers through noon today.
100% of all tips earned go to Special Olympics Oklahoma , supporting 12,700 Oklahoma athletes in event training, travel, and competition.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration there were 11,288 speed-related traffic fatalities in 2024.

Speeding increases the risk of losing control and impairs the driver's ability to respond safely to traffic, hazards, and sudden changes in the road. The speed limits establish safe and predictable speeds that allow all road users to anticipate each other's behaviors and share the road. Driving faster than the posted speed limit diminishes the driver's ability to judge distance and time safely to avoid serious and deadly crashes.

Burglary near Oologah.

We have no information, and have not been updated, about the burglary incident that happened last evening near Oologah. We cannot share information we do not have and will not spread misinformation. If we hear anything at all, we will post something for you.

This is outside of our jurisdictional boundaries and Rogers County Sheriff's Office is the lead on this. If you have any questions, comments or concerns, they should be directed to their office.
