With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of former Northwest Rogers County Fire Protection District Chief Mike Jarvis. His dedication, leadership, and service to our community will always be remembered.

We are proud to share that his son is continuing his legacy as a firefighter with the district, embodying the same spirit of commitment and courage.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the family during this difficult time. Thank you for your service and sacrifice.

It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of the passing of Foyil Fire Chief Randy Atchley. Chief Atchley dedicated his life to serving their community, always putting others before himself. His courage, leadership, and unwavering commitment to public service will be deeply missed.

We’re getting a lot of calls and messages about the status of the storm shelter grant applications that were submitted last summer.

We are still waiting on receive final approval from the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

Ultimately, its FEMA’s final decision to release and disburse any storm shelter grant funding.

Last summer, Rogers County Emergency Management sent over 400 eligible applications for storm shelter grants to the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).

Our team is following up with our federal partners on these applications.

Chelsea Fire Department and Northwest Rogers County Fire Protection District need your help after firefighters responded Monday to nearly two dozen wildland fires in their districts. Because of the close proximity and timing of these fires, investigators are asking for the public’s help with any information that may lead to the cause and the nature of the fires.

Please contact your local fire department *directly* if you have information.
