Yesterday, we said “see you later” to one of our own.

Firefighter Logan left Oostburg today to begin the next chapter of his life as he heads to Army basic training. For the past three and a half years, Logan has been a valued member of the Oostburg Fire Department, serving our community alongside his fellow firefighters and always being willing to step up when needed.

While we’re sorry to see him go, we’re proud of Logan for choosing to continue serving others through the United States Army.

From everyone at the Oostburg Fire Department, we wish Logan the very best in the months and years ahead. Stay safe, work hard, and know that you’ll always have a home here at Oostburg Fire.

Members of the community received epinephrine training at Oostburg on Saturday. Those in attendance are now able to obtain, carry, and administer EPI to anyone who is experiencing an episode of anaphylaxis as allowed by Dillon's Law in Wisconsin. Our very own Phil M. of Oostburg First Responders is now also qualified as a trainer in this life-saving act. If any individual, family group, business or organization is interested in having Phil train your group, please contact Phil by phone at (920) 889-1191 or email at [email protected] or contact Oostburg EMR at [email protected]
Thank you so much to Dillon's parents, Angel & George Mueller, for educating and training us in Oostburg. Since this law was passed, there have been over 25 lives saved because epinephrine was more readily available. When most people think about the dangers faced by firefighters and first responders, they think of fire, vehicle crashes, hazardous materials, or other emergencies. While those risks are real, there is another challenge that often goes unseen: the emotional and psychological impact of serving others during their worst moments.

Members of the Oostburg Fire Department and First Responders are privileged to serve our community, but the calls we respond to can sometimes leave lasting effects. Just as we train to protect our physical health and safety, we must also be willing to care for our mental well-being and support one another when times are difficult.

We are thankful for the dedicated volunteers of our regional Critical Incident Stress Debriefing (CISD) team and the members of our county Peer Support Team. Their willingness to answer the call to support us provides an invaluable resource for those processing difficult incidents and challenging experiences.

To our fellow fire departments, EMS agencies, law enforcement officers, dispatchers, and first responders: take time this month and throughout the year to check on your people. A simple conversation can make a meaningful difference. Make sure your members know that asking for help is a sign of strength and that they never have to carry the burden alone.

To our community, thank you for your continued support and understanding. Mental health is an important part of overall health, and awareness helps encourage people to find resources and access help when they need it.

Check on your people.

We’re excited to share that Flight For Life and ThedaStar have officially come together as one unified air medical transport program—bringing together two trusted teams with one shared mission: delivering safe, high-quality, life-saving care when it matters most.

By combining our experience, expertise, and resources, this integration will:

*Expand access to air medical transport across the region
*Improve coordination and aircraft availability
*Reduce delays and response times
*Strengthen service for patients, EMS, hospitals, and communities

Together, our two programs bring decades of experience—serving tens of thousands of patients across Wisconsin—and are now even better positioned to meet the growing needs of the communities we serve.

Most importantly, there is no disruption to service. Both Flight For Life and ThedaStar will continue operating under their trusted names, and our partners in health care can use the same dispatch numbers you rely on today.

This is about growth, collaboration, and ensuring more patients receive the critical care they need—when and where they need it most.

Thank you to our partners, crews, and communities for your continued trust and support.

Funeral directors Jessica and Tristan, along with aftercare coordinator Jean, had the honor of providing dinner for an amazing group of first responders. The dedicated men and women of Oostburg’s Emergency Medical Responders provide safety, comfort and care to our local family and friends. This was a small way for us to say THANK YOU; we are grateful for all you do. Oostburg Fire & First Responders
