Are you aware of how National Safe Boating Week first came about?

NSBW originated in 1949 when Auxiliarist Steve Sadowski organized the first official weekend long marine examination, which we now call vessel examinations, event for boaters. Auxilarist Sadowski began this important and age old tradition that has been carried on for decades in an effort to help reduce the number of tragedies that occur on the water, especially in the summer months when more people are active on the water. You can help continue Auxiliarist Sadowski's mission by implementing safe boating information into your own water activities as well as by joining the Auxiliary in continuing to promote the importance of such information!

National Safe Boating Week. Be sure to consider weather conditions before setting sail.

Weather and water temperature can have serious impacts on the body, including hypothermia or heat exhaustion.

Make sure you and your passengers are dressed appropriately and always wear a life jacket.
