Alabama State Employees Association tells its members โ€œYour voice and your vote still matter,โ€ in response to Tubervilleโ€™s campaign pledge to DOGE Alabama.

As reckless as DOGE was with our federal government โ€” and considering that it did not save American taxpayers any money and that it cost federal workers time as well as emotional anguish โ€” we do not believe the same slash-and-burn method should come for our Alabama state workers.

ASEA did not tell its members how to vote, but it did suggest that it is worth all state workersโ€™ time to diligently research where candidates stand on this important issue.

Tuberville said he would begin reviewing state agencies, their budgets and their workforces as soon as he takes office.

Ron Sparks is running for Ag Commissioner, and he has plans to ensure food safety and protect farmers.

Meet Ron Sparks, who is running for Alabama's Commissioner of Agriculture and Industries.

Sparks has served in this role before, from 2003 to 2011. He has several priorities based on his previous experience as Ag Commissioner, including prosecuting animal abuse committed against pets and livestock, ensuring that all foods that come into Alabama are safe for families to eat, and eliminating the 1.5% sales tax on farm equipment.

On top of that, Sparks is adamant that consumers don't get overcharged. "You pay for a gallon, you get a gallon of gas," says Sparks. "Thatโ€™s my promise to you. I do not tolerate consumer ripoffs."

When he was commissioner before, he made it a requirement that every gasoline pump was inspected and certified for accuracy and safe operation, but the program was ended in 2015.

This means, he says, "that there are no elected officials looking out for your pocketbook and peace of mind at the pumps. ...Your elected officials in Alabama must do everything possible to ensure efficiency and accuracy so that you can go to your favorite gas station without having to worry that unscrupulous operators are giving you less than what you paid for."

Sparks is also a veteran, having served in the U.S. Coast Guard Honor Guard.

Vote blue for a better Alabama. ๐Ÿ’™
