The entire state of Alabama is now in the "enhanced" risk area for Wednesday, March 17th, 2021. NOW is the time to finalize those plans for you and/or your family. PLEASE be sure you have multiple ways to receive weather notifications inside your home.
Winds in excess of 60 m.p.h., hail and the possibility of a tornado cannot be ruled out with this system.
Tomorrow (Tuesday) we will provide information on "safer locations" that you can go to if a Tornado WATCH is issued. EXPIRED POST

Tomorrow as we recognize the 2 year anniversary of the tornadoes that impacted the Beauregard and Smiths Station communities leaving a path of destruction and loss that will never be forgotten; please know that we continue to pray for all of you!

Please join us tomorrow at 12 noon CST in the courthouse square as we take a few moments to honor the lives of the 23 that left us way too soon.

We will be in Smiths Station @ 2:00 p.m. CST as Mayor Copeland continues to honor those we lost with a moment of silence. EXPIRED POST.

Tomorrow evening @ 7 p.m. CST we will be in Beauregard @ Providence Baptist Church (site of Memorial) for a candlelight service to end our day.

Hello everyone. My name is Steven Holden and I am the new training officer with the Lee County Emergency Management Agency. I just wanted to take a minute to introduce myself to everyone here. I served 10 years as a volunteer with Beauregard Volunteer Fire Department and 4 years as a Deputy Sheriff with Lee County Sheriff's Office. I would like to thank everyone that is already a part of the CERT program, and encourage everyone to reach out to me if you have any questions. My email address is [email protected] and I will respond as soon as I can. I will be looking to hold some training classes later this year, COVID-19 pending, and hope to have a new CERT class later this year.

Thanks again for all of your help!
Steven Holden

I would like to take this time to thank each and every one of you who have assisted us with several missions in the last few weeks:

For those of you who have stepped up and supported EOC Operations you are so appreciated! You play a vital role in our TEAM and we could not do what we do without you!

If you have been assisting by serving at the drive-thru testing site your sacrifice is recognized!

If you served during the search and rescue operations over the last few days this is what you trained and prepared for and what an OUTSTANDING job you did! The heat, rough terrain, and very long hours didn't stop you.

The Lee County, Alabama Emergency Management Agency will continue to offer additional training and team building when this pandemic is over. We will provide information about it when the time comes.

THANK YOU and BLESS YOU for serving the citizens of Lee County!

Rita
