Last night (5/11) what started as a normal bi-weekly training for our personnel turned into a call for service for a reported vehicle fire. BVFD personnel and one trainee quickly loaded up in apparatus and headed to their destination. Upon arrival, one vehicle was found, off the roadway fully involved. Hose line was deployed and firefighters worked to extinguish the blaze. In approximately 30min, all fire had been extinguished and the scene was considered safe. No injuries were reported. BVFD responded with 3 apparatus and 10 personnel. 100 gal of water was used on scene.
This is a prime example of how unpredictable a day in the life of a volunteer firefighter can be!
