We are currently experiencing an outage affecting customers in the Birmingham Hwy, Saugahatchee Lake Rd, Grand National Pkwy, and surrounding areas.

Approximately 130 customers are currently without power.

Our service truck has been notified, and crews will be working to assess the issue and restore power as quickly and safely as possible.

Opelika Power Services will have a scheduled outage on Tuesday, September 15, from 8:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. for primary reconductor work.

Approximately 45 customers will be affected in the following areas:

📍 1500, 1600 & 1700 blocks of Leo Lane
📍 1500, 1700 & 1800 blocks of Hanson Street
📍 1600 block of Belle Circle
📍 1700 block of Ridge Road
📍 2000 block of West Point Parkway

Customers in the affected areas are being notified at this time.

Opelika Power Services will have a scheduled outage tomorrow, Thursday, September 10, from 8:00 AM–12:00 PM.

The outage will affect 3 customers in the 600 and 700 blocks of Hillflo Ave and the 600 block of Overlook Dr.

🔧 This outage is necessary for a pole changeout.

🎉 CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR RETIREMENT, BRENT POTEET! 🎉

Today we celebrate Brent Poteet, Director of Opelika Power Services, and the years of leadership, dedication, and service he has given to OPS and our community.

Brent wasn’t just a great leader, he was someone who knew the importance of having a good sense of humor and enjoying a good laugh. He truly believed that laughter is good for the soul, and he had a way of bringing humor and lightheartedness into the workplace that made the days a little brighter.

Thank you, Brent, for believing in people, encouraging others, and making so many feel welcomed and valued as part of the OPS family. Your leadership and your personality have left a lasting impression that won’t soon be forgotten.

While we’re definitely going to miss seeing you around OPS, we’re happy to see you begin this next chapter. You’ve worked hard, you’ve made a difference, and now it’s time to ride off into the sunset! 🌅🏍️
