🌟 Our June Spotlight Kiwanian: Joey Richard 🌟

We are proud to recognize Joey Richard, who has been a dedicated member of the Kiwanis Club for nearly 2 years! 💙

Joey is a professional barber and the proud owner of his own barbershop here in the community. In addition to his work behind the chair, he also serves as a local landlord, managing properties to help provide safe, quality housing for residents.

He is currently focused on expanding his community outreach through an annual August event that provides free haircuts and school supplies, helping local children start the school year with confidence. He is also working to establish and operate a local food pantry to address food insecurity. These efforts are especially meaningful, as they provide immediate, tangible support to the families he connects with every day.

Joey shares that his time as a barber has been his greatest education—teaching him how to listen, connect, and understand people from all walks of life. Serving on the CASA board, along with his involvement in DPEC and DSCC, has further strengthened his commitment to advocacy and creating meaningful, lasting change in the community.

This month marks 5 years that I have been your MacaroniKID publisher for Acadia-St. Landry! I have enjoyed these years getting to know the people in my community, working alongside so many great organizations and networking with local businesses that help form their communities.
