A huge thank you to Staci and Heather with South Central Alabama Mental Health for stopping by Opp Housing Authority today and providing such an important and informative training on opioid overdose awareness and Narcan distribution!

We truly appreciate you both taking the time to educate our residents and community, share valuable resources, and help us spread awareness that can ultimately save lives!

We’re also excited to be adding an Opioid Overdose Safety Kit outside of our office so this resource will be available to our residents and community when they need it. 💚🫂💚🫂💚

The Opp Farmers Market is excited to announce the Kids Market Bucks Program!

Children under 18 can receive a $5 Kids Market Bucks voucher to purchase fresh fruits and vegetables from participating vendors at the Opp Farmers Market.

Vouchers are available at:
• Opp City Hall
• Opp Public Library
• Opp Housing Authority
• Opp Chamber of Commerce

Limit one $5 voucher per child per market day while supplies last.
The Opp Farmers Market is open Wednesdays from 7:00 AM until 1:00 PM and Saturdays from 7:00 AM until 2:00 PM at 224 Covington Avenue.

Get excited for the upcoming school year by creating a Goal Getter Vision Board! This fun, hands-on event will encourage kids to dream big, set goals, and visualize everything they want to achieve this school year.

We’ll provide all the supplies—you just bring your creativity and a positive attitude!

Thank you to every family, child, volunteer, vendor, community partner, sponsor, and supporter who came out to make our HUD Strong Family Community Day such a huge success. Seeing our community come together, connect, laugh, and support one another is exactly what this day was all about.

A special thank you to everyone who donated their time, resources, services, and generosity. Because of your kindness, so many families were able to receive food, clothing, school supplies, haircuts, cellphones, community resources, giveaways, and so much more. Your willingness to give back made a lasting impact on our residents and community.

To everyone who attended—thank you for showing up and making this event one to remember. We are truly grateful for each and every one of you. This is what community looks like, and we’re already looking forward to the next one!
