Henderson County Sheriff's Office Arrests Rural LaHarpe Man on Multiple S*x Offense Charges

The Henderson County Sheriff's Office has arrested 49-year-old Ronald G. Jarrell of rural LaHarpe, Illinois, following an investigation into allegations of sexual abuse involving an underage victim.

The investigation began after the Henderson County Sheriff's Office received information from the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services regarding a disclosure of sexual abuse made by a minor.

As a result of the investigation, Ronald G. Jarrell was taken into custody.

The Henderson County State's Attorney's Office has charged Jarrell with the following offenses:
Three (3) counts of Predatory Criminal S*xual Assault (Class X Felony)
Three (3) counts of Criminal S*xual Assault (Class 1 Felony)

The Henderson County Sheriff's Office would like to thank the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services, the Child Advocacy Center, and all agencies that assisted with this investigation.

As with all criminal cases, these charges are merely accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.

No additional information is being released at this time due to the nature of the investigation.

Henderson County Sheriff’s Office K9 Bolo has received donation of body armor

Henderson County Sheriff’s Office, IL - K9 Bolo has received a bullet and stab protective vest thanks to a charitable donation from non-profit organization Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. K9 Bolo’s vest was sponsored by Karla Kimmey of Port Charlotte, FL and embroidered with the sentiment “In memory of Zayla”.

Vested Interest in K9s, Inc., established in 2009, is a 501(c)(3) charity whose mission is to provide bullet and stab protective vests and other assistance to dogs of law enforcement and related agencies throughout the United States. This potentially lifesaving body armor for four-legged K9 officers is U.S. made, custom fitted, and National Institute of Justice (NIJ) certified. Since its inception, Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. has provided over 6,397 vests valued at $6.9 million to K9s in all 50 states, made possible by both private and corporate donations.

The program is open to U.S. dogs at least 20 months old and actively employed and certified with law enforcement or related agencies. K9s with expired vests are also eligible to participate. There are an estimated 30,000 law enforcement K9s throughout the United States.

Vested Interest in K9s, Inc., accepts tax-deductible contributions in any amount, while a single donation of $1,050 will sponsor one vest. The Warren County Sheriff's Office has not located the dogs as of today. We have been sharing information on the whereabouts of the dogs. With the Warren County area being close to Henderson County and possible sightings in Henderson County, we urge farmers and residents to be on the lookout for the dogs.

If you see the dogs please call the Henderson County Sheriff's Office or the Warren County Sheriff's Office respectively on the location.
