History of the Oracle Public Library: how we came to be.

1903 The Oracle Reading Room was established by Lavinna Steward, and was later know as the Steward Library.
1948 Library moved to the basement of Trowbridge hall, adjacent to the old stone church on American Ave.
1975 Huffman family donated a mobile home trailer o the library.
1989 Lynn Wong began a fundraising campaign for a new library.


1992 Purchased the old Post Office building on American Ave.
2001 Library received computers from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. The Oracle Public Library is the oldest Public Library in Pinal County, Arizona! We continue to update with additional storage, carpeting, shelving, furniture, and of course, new materials for the collection in a variety of formats.
