Rancho Linda Vista

Rancho Linda Vista Founded in 1968, Rancho Linda Vista is an intentional and inclusive artists community, located in the Catalina highlands of Oracle, Arizona.

RLV fosters creative endeavors through its exhibits, residencies, workshops, concerts, readings and more. Spearheaded by Charles Littler, Rancho Linda Vista was formed in 1968 by a group of artists affiliated with the University of Arizona, who settled on an historic adobe ranch in the northern Catalina foothills that bore the same name. In a short space of time, the houses were taken over by indi

vidual families and the barns converted into artists studios. Over the years, "the ranch" has hosted well-known artists, writers, poets and others, as well as provided home for an assortment of artists, architects, artisans, teachers, scholars, health providers, activists and more. It has space for experimentation - in both the arts and community living - but with too many ornery sorts has never quite managed to pull off being a "commune".

Rancho Linda Vista is excited to announce our 2026 Summer Artist Residency Awardee, Joanna Tochman!

is a visual artist and PhD candidate at the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk, Poland. Working across painting, photography, and object-making, her practice explores landscape, space, and the shifting territory between places and “non-places.” Through walking, observation, and slow darkroom processes, she creates work that moves between documentation and imagination.

This July, Joanna will travel to Arizona to spend the month in residence at Rancho Linda Vista, developing new work inspired by and in conversation with the Sonoran Desert landscape. Her recent project Sunspot traces a journey through unfamiliar terrain guided by afterimages left from staring into the sun. Created through intuitive wandering and hand-developed photography, the project feels deeply connected to the spirit of the desert and the culture of artistic exploration that continues to shape Rancho Linda Vista.

We’re honored to welcome Joanna to Oracle this summer and look forward to the work, conversations, and desert wanderings ahead.

Highlighting our 2024 visual artist residency awardee - Talia Dudley Talia J Dudley 🌟

The Rancho Linda Vista Arts artist-in-residence award offers artists an opportunity to create a body of work in a serene desert setting surrounded by 100 wilderness acres. Following the trails of this vast open space became the inspiration behind Dudley’s new artworks that were created during the residency and which resulted in a solo exhibit in the RLV gallery.

The work she created is titled, “Little Trails” and reflects the artist’s movement, meditation and focus over the course of a month on the ranch.

Talia J Dudley was born in Long Beach, CA in 1988. Moving to Tucson to attend the University of Arizona, she majored in studio art, focusing on drawing and painting. In December of 2010, she graduated with a BA in studio art and a minor in art history. Since graduating, Talia spent 10 years in Henderson, NV, and now resides in Mesa, AZ where she continues her career as a full-time studio artist. In 2022 Talia was indexed as a techpressionist artist. Talia has had solo shows in Las Vegas, Oracle, Mayer, and Phoenix and has exhibited in Arizona, Nevada, Utah, and California.
