On 4/22/26 at 2100, Officer Stefano was attending a hockey game at the Ice House in Hackensack, when he was alerted to a crowd gathering around one of the goalies. The goalie, who was initially feeling nauseous, collapsed to the ground going into cardiac arrest. After discovering that the male party did not have a pulse, Officer Stefano had his wife dial 9-1-1 while he began CPR. Officer Stefano was able to utilize a defibrillator on scene and shocked the male party twice, restoring his heartbeat. ALS and BLS arrived a short time later transporting the male party to Hackensack Hospital. PO Stefano is credited for saving the male partys life who is currently recovering at the hospital.

The Oradell Police Department continues to participate in the, "Blue Envelope Program". This program is designed to aid individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) during traffic stops or motor vehicle crashes.

The Blue Envelope serves as a crucial communication tool, ensuring smooth and clear exchanges between individuals with ASD and law enforcement officers, thereby preventing any potential misunderstandings.

Participants in the program will maintain a blue envelope containing essential documents such as their driver's license, registration, insurance card, and a white information sheet. Clear instructions are printed on the exterior of the envelope for easy reference by both the driver and the officer. Additionally, the envelope indicates whether the individual with ASD is verbal or non-verbal, streamlining communication further. The back of the envelope includes pertinent information for the receiving officer and, if needed, emergency contact details to swiftly address any concerns.

These materials are still available at the front desk of the Oradell Police Department for borough residents.
