🎓 Institute 2026: Graduate by Design 🎓

Yesterday, our faculty and staff kicked off the new school year at Institute 2026, centered around our districtwide initiative, Graduate by Design. As we continue shaping the future of Orange Beach City Schools, we are looking to the educational experience of the Class of 2039, this year's kindergarten class, to help guide our strategic decisions.

A heartfelt thank you to Central Church Orange Beach for treating our team to an amazing breakfast buffet and thoughtful goodie bags to kick off the school year. Your generosity and encouragement mean so much to our staff!

We also celebrated one of our favorite traditions, our annual Institute Awards Ceremony, recognizing the incredible educators and staff members who make Orange Beach City Schools so special!

The day concluded with Family Day at The Oasis, where our staff and their families enjoyed time together before the excitement of a new school year begins. Thank you to 16 Creative for providing the commemorative Institute 2026 T-shirts that helped make this incredible day even more memorable.

Our vision is clear. Our team is ready. We cannot wait to welcome our students back in just a few days. It's great to be a Mako! 🦈

The Orange Beach Middle & High School Class of 2026 set a new senior class record with a 95% Average Daily Attendance, the highest ever achieved by a graduating class! Their commitment to showing up every day has raised the bar for future Makos. 🦈

Mark your calendars! Join us at The Wharf on August 5 at 6:00 p.m. as our students, staff, and community come together for our annual Makos on Main Parade.

🎡 Orange Beach Police Department Kids' Zone: 5:00-7:00 p.m. Join the fun at the Kids' Zone by the Ferris Wheel!

⭐ Student Line-Up: 5:30 p.m. on the west side of the Marlin Statue. Each grade level (Pre-K through 12) will have a designated sign to help students find their group!

🍽 After the parade, make dinner easy! Stop by Tee Off at The Wharf. Kids 12 and under eat FREE with the purchase of an adult entrée, and Orange Beach City Schools staff members receive 10% off with a valid school ID.

Our parade will conclude at Portside on Main with special performances by our band and cheerleaders. Be sure to stick around for this exciting, pep rally inspired finale. Go Makos! 🦈
