Sioux County will see a stretch of 𝗵𝗼𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗵𝘂𝗺𝗶𝗱 𝘄𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝘅𝘁 𝘀𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗱𝗮𝘆𝘀, with heat index values climbing into the 𝟵𝟬𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗻𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝟭𝟬𝟬° 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲𝘀. 🌡️

Please take precautions if you’ll be working or spending time outdoors:

✅ Drink plenty of water
✅ Take frequent breaks in the shade or A/C
✅ Never leave children or pets in vehicles
✅ Check on elderly neighbors and those without air conditioning
✅ Wear lightweight, light-colored clothing
✅ Know the signs of heat exhaustion and heat stroke

🚜 Those working outdoors, including farmers, construction crews, and first responders, should especially pace themselves during the hottest parts of the day.

🚨𝗔𝗜-𝗚𝗘𝗡𝗘𝗥𝗔𝗧𝗘𝗗 𝗦𝗧𝗢𝗥𝗠 𝗣𝗛𝗢𝗧𝗢𝗦 𝗖𝗔𝗡 𝗣𝗨𝗧 𝗟𝗜𝗩𝗘𝗦 𝗔𝗧 𝗥𝗜𝗦𝗞 🚨

The 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗪𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗦𝗶𝗼𝘂𝘅 𝗙𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘀 is warning the public about the growing issue of 𝗔𝗜-𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗱𝗼 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗺 𝗽𝗵𝗼𝘁𝗼𝘀 being shared online as if they are real. These fake images can create confusion, panic, and dangerous misinformation during severe weather events.

Recently, in a neighboring county, 𝘃𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗱 after an AI-generated tornado image was submitted and reported as real. Emergency personnel had to spend time investigating a 𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗱𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗻𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗲𝘅𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗱 — time that could have been spent responding to real emergencies and protecting lives.

𝗗𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝘄𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿, 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀. Before sharing storm photos or reports:
