We had such a fun and meaningful time visiting the amazing students at A.L. Conner Elementary School for Career Day! 👮‍♂️✨
Ofc. Sandoval loved sharing what it means to be a police officer—helping others, keeping the community safe, and working as a team. The students were full of great questions and excitement as they learned about police uniforms, equipment, and how we help people every day. 🚔💙
Seeing their smiles and curiosity reminds us why building positive relationships with our youth is so important. Who knows—maybe we met some future officers in that classroom!
Thank you, A.L. Conner Elementary, for the warm welcome. We’re proud to serve our community and inspire the next generation, one classroom at a time!

With the rise in the usage of electric scooters and E-bikes, it is crucial to remember the rules of the road to ensure everyone's safety. Over the next few weeks, officers from the Orange Cove Police Department will distribute informational flyers regarding the laws that apply to E-Scooters and E-Bikes. We hope this initiative will educate users of these devices and assist them in making informed decisions when utilizing these modes of transportation. Chief Pena and the Orange Cove Police Department will consistently prioritize community safety and will go to great lengths to maintain this as a significant concern.

On April 26, 2026, at approximately 7:58 PM, officers responded to the 300 block of 11th Street regarding reports of shots fired. Upon arrival, officers located two spent shell casings in the roadway. While conducting their investigation, officers observed a vehicle driving through the area that matched the description of the suspect vehicle provided. Officers immediately attempted a felony stop; however, the driver, later identified as Federico Inostroz Jr., refused to yield, leading officers on a short pursuit. Once the vehicle came to a stop, Inostroz exited and fled on foot. Officers gave chase and quickly apprehended him, taking him into custody. During an inventory search of the vehicle, officers located a semi-automatic handgun believed to be connected to the reported brandishing and shooting. The Orange Cove Police Department is grateful that no one was injured during this incident and that another firearm was safely removed from the street.
