To my Pct. 5 constituents

While the results were not what we had hoped for, I remain incredibly proud of what has been accomplished over the past three years.

Together, we projected approximately $130,000 in taxpayer savings, reduced truancy filings by 76% by holding parents and students accountable, maintained a clear and efficient docket, and strengthened the overall operation of this office. Those improvements will continue to guide my work over the next nine months as I finish my term.

It has been an honor to serve you.

Thank you for all your support through the campaign!

I wish Gerald Murray the very best as he prepares to begin his term as Justice of the Peace on January 1, 2027.

Hello everyone! Before we dive in to our updated 2025 court filings, I have two big updates to share.

Over the last several years, our office has made meaningful progress in two major areas:

1. Responsible use of taxpayer dollars
Upon completing a spend analysis of my last three years in office and the last three years of my predecessor, I can proudly say our office has saved the taxpayer $95,206.60.
(see chart below).
This reduction was achieved despite rising costs for required supplies, premiums, travel, etc.

2. Significant reduction in truancy filings
Truancy filings in OGISD have decreased by 76% since 2023, my first year in office.
(see chart below).
This reduction directly benefits the school district, as the school loses ~$35 per student per absence. Getting our students to return to school, and stay there, has made a great impact on our school's funding.

I’m proud of the progress we’ve made and the positive impact this has had on both taxpayers and our schools, and it is my mission that these numbers continue to rise in the future.

These results are not possible without an outstanding clerk and partnerships with both OGISD and Constable Arismendez!

2025 updated filings:
Truancy: 26 (16 parent, 10 student)
Citations/Complaints: 357
Individual Magistrations: 576 (663 total charges)
Driver License Suspension Hearings: 4
Occupational Drivers License Hearings: 5
Inquests: 22
Debt Claims: 123
Small Claims: 10
Evictions: 24

As we begin our 4th year, I want to extend my appreciation to Orange Grove City Hall for allowing us to use the Council Chambers for our court proceedings, including truancy, debt claims, evictions, and more.

This partnership allows our office to hold court in a way that is efficient, dignified, and respectful of the public we serve.
The space is beautifully designed and offers ample seating, and we regularly receive compliments from those attending court!

We truly appreciate the continued partnership and support from the leadership at City Hall. Thank you!

Whether you agreed with his views or not, Charlie championed one of the most sacred American principles: the right to speak freely and to disagree openly without fear.

This was not simply an attack on Charlie— it was an attack on the very freedoms that hold our Republic together.

Free speech & civil discourse are NOT negotiable.

May Charlie’s family find comfort in their faith and in each other.
May this tragedy urge you to protect our rights.

Continue to speak up and speak out.
