Congratulations to our fellow library! 🥰Anytime a library has a project funded to further literacy for our students is a WIN for everyone!

The Orange Public Library is excited to share that the library has received a generous $4,900 grant from the Foundation For Southeast Texas.

These funds have been designated to enhance our Young Adult and Children's areas by adding select new furniture pieces and expanding access to digital content through the Libby and Hoopla apps.

We are thankful for the Foundation's support of our library and our community. Their investment will help us continue providing welcoming spaces and valuable resources for readers and visitors of all ages.

Thanks to the Turner Family we have the new centerpiece for our ISpy game in the fall as part of our library program! Thank you VERY much for helping me make this vision happen!

No guys, we are not getting a library pet 🤣 I would love it, but then I think of having to worry about him or her during hurricane season and I think, nah, I’m good 🤣🤣🤣

Orange Public Library has a reading program for our teens too!

The Orange Public Library is hosting a series of Summer Reading Programs for readers of all ages! 📖🌞

This year’s theme, “Unearth a Story,” invites readers to dig into a good book, uncover hidden histories, and explore the past while celebrating the joy of discovery that reading brings. The theme also highlights how every person and every community has stories waiting to be found and shared through books, programs, and local knowledge.

📖 Programs:

📘 Preschool Read-to-Me: Wednesdays from 10:45 am – 11:15 am
📗 Elementary School (1st - 5th graders): Wednesdays from 10:30 am – 11:30 am
📕 Young Adult - Middle School (6th - 8th graders): Tuesdays from 5:30 pm – 6:30 pm
📙 Young Adult - High School (9th - 12th graders): Thursdays from 5:30 pm – 6:30 pm
📚 Adults: Summer Reading Coupon Book and activities on dates throughout the summer

Readers can sign up at the library to participate in any of the Summer Reading Programs and attend weekly events throughout the summer. Participants may register ahead of time or sign up on the day of each event. Attendance is free, flexible, and no book reports are required — participants can read whatever they would like at their own pace.

Registration begins Tuesday, May 26th, with the first programs starting on Tuesday, June 2nd. Upon registration, participants will receive a book bag and reading log to track the time they spend reading or being read to. Reading logs can be turned in to earn Library Bucks for entries into prize drawings!

For more information about each program, call the Orange Public Library at 409-883-1086 or visit our website at https://orangetexas.gov/420/Summer-Reading-Program
