🚨 Public Notification System Test – April 2, 2026 🚨
The Texas Department of Emergency Management will be conducting a statewide Public Warning System test on Thursday, April 2, 2026 at approximately 10:35 am.
As part of this drill, Orange County will send a TEST message through STAN (Southeast Texas Alerting Network). STAN is a regional notification system used by emergency management officials to quickly share important information about emergencies, weather events, and other critical situations in Southeast Texas.
During the test, you may receive:
• A text message
• An email notification
• A phone call
⚠️THIS IS ONLY A TEST⚠️
The purpose of this exercise is to ensure the system is working properly and ready to keep our community informed in the event of a real emergency. This is part of a statewide test of multiple alerting networks, intended to evaluate performance during high-volume usage between 10:00 am and 12:30 pm. Orange County is scheduled to receive notifications at approximately 10:35 am.
We appreciate your patience and participation as we conduct this important test of the Southeast Texas Alerting Network.
