CASA of Orange County - Court Appointed Special Advocates

CASA of Orange County - Court Appointed Special Advocates Volunteers building connections for youth in the child welfare system. Become a CASA. Change a life. Change a Child's Story.™

CASA provides a powerful voice and a meaningful connection for children who have experienced abuse, neglect, and abandonment. Court Appointed Special Advocates are trained volunteers who develop a consistent one-on-one relationship with their child, often becoming the most important person in the child's life. This commitment enables our advocates to interact with all professionals involved in the

child’s case and make recommendations directly to the court, ensuring the child’s best interests are heard.

Thank you to our friends at Modern Luxury Riviera OC, Diana McBride and Allison Mitchell, for this recognition! We 🫶 you!

HELP in Action: Health Advocacy ❤️

This quarter, we’re highlighting Health through the experience of CASA volunteer Darla Holland and the young person she serves, Shawn. Darla supported Shawn as he learned to take a more active role in his medical care, including navigating the transition from pediatric to adult care. Her support helped him build confidence and take greater ownership of his health.

That’s HELP in Action. 💙

We loved welcoming our friends from CASA of Los Angeles to CASA of Orange County this week for a day of connection, conversation, and shared learning.

Different counties, one shared mission. We’re grateful for the opportunity to exchange ideas, strengthen our development teams, and continue building a stronger CASA community together.

💙 Board Member Spotlight: Padideh Jafari.

Padideh’s lifelong commitment to advocacy began with a passion for law and a belief in speaking up for those who need a voice. Today, she brings that same dedication to CASA OC, first as a board member and now as a CASA volunteer advocating for a youth in the Youth Justice System.

We’re proud to have Padideh’s leadership, experience, and heart as part of the CASA OC community.

💙 Meet our August Advocate of the Month, Ann Ma!
For 17 years, Ann has shown what it means to stay committed, even when advocacy can be challenging or the impact isn’t immediately visible. Her experience reminds us that consistency, patience, and simply continuing to show up can create a lasting connection that youth may carry with them long after their CASA case closes.

As Ann shares:
“I would encourage advocates to stick with it - even when it can feel frustrating. Deep down, you’re making a difference, and the kids do appreciate you. Sometimes it takes them growing into adults and maturing to understand the impact that you made in their lives when they were teenagers.”
— Ann Ma, CASA Volunteer

Thank you, Ann Ma, for 17 years of showing up, building trust, and never giving up.

🎒☀️ Another successful CASA OC Back-to-School Picnic! 💙

Our Back-to-School Picnic is about more than getting ready for a new school year; it’s a chance for youth experiencing foster care to simply be kids. From playing, laughing, enjoying good food, spending time with siblings, and catching up with friends, this day creates space for connection, joy, and memories.

A huge thank you to our CASA OC board members, staff, and volunteers who helped make this special day possible. And a special shoutout to the CASA volunteers who brought their youth and spent the day making memories alongside them. Your presence matters!

We’re also incredibly grateful to the vendors and community partners who helped make the picnic a success. Thank you to:
