Some Connecticut kids were sent home this month because their classrooms were too hot to learn in. It happens in the fall, too, right at the start of the school year when our kids are just getting settled. β˜€οΈπŸŒ‘οΈ

Orange families already know this story. Our schools don't have AC. πŸ‘‰ Meanwhile, 95% of Connecticut households do.

With temperatures continuing to rise, this isn't a once-in-a-while problem anymore for our students and teachers.

Did you know that about 5.5% of vehicles in Orange are electric? That's one of the highest rates of EVs in the state! πŸ”ŒπŸš— Looking forward to seeing them charging up at the Community Center now that this project is complete.

Standing room only at Orange's Memorial Day ceremony this morning. πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ Even through the rain, it means so much that so many neighbors gathered to stop and remember together.

Senator Blumenthal put it simply: "We are the land of the free because we are the home of the brave."

Grateful to the students, volunteers, and community leaders who made this morning possible. πŸ™πŸ» And most of all, grateful to every veteran and their families.

This is unfortunate but makes sense. We're glad the ceremony for honorees will be held indoors.

June is just around the corner, and we're excited to join with neighbors for this simple, family-friendly gathering to kick off Pride Month. 🌈

All are welcome! Enjoy a popsicle, take a photo with the Pride Flag, and celebrate together.

Woo hoo! πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ—³οΈ Connecticut just took a major step forward for voting rights and democratic participation.

Absentee ballots are now available to all eligible voters in Connecticut elections and primaries, beginning with this year's primary election on August 11 and general election on November 3.

Voters will still need to request an absentee ballot, but they will no longer need to provide one of the previously required excuses. That means more flexibility for working families, caregivers, seniors, people with disabilities, and anyone balancing the demands of everyday life.

This reform was approved directly by Connecticut voters through a constitutional amendment in 2024, and now it’s officially law. πŸŽ‰

Democracy works best when more people participate. πŸ›οΈ Proud to see Connecticut continue leading with policies that protect the freedom to vote and strengthen confidence in our elections.

A divided Senate gave final passage Wednesday to legislation that lifts the last barriers to no-excuse absentee voting in Connecticut.
