Dear Friends of the Orange Town Hall Restoration Efforts,
A lot has happened since last summer when we asked for help to restore the Town Of Orange's beautiful 1912 Grand Drape depicting the Concord Minuteman Statue. In three months we raised $12,000 for restoration by Curtains Without Borders. The Restoration is complete, the curtain is hung, and it has even been the backdrop for the Community Chorus Concert. However, it is very hard to see the curtain, or anything else on stage, because there is virtually no lighting for the stage.
We have sought estimates for stage lighting to include basic production quality, state of the art lighting. We also may consider adding to the basic audio system now available for town meetings, etc.
In any event, we need more money to complete work on the stage to make it fully functional. The bids in hand rage from $35,000 upwards , and we have decided to aim for $40,000 in our fundraising efforts.
The curtain is looking wonderful, and we are anxiously awaiting lighting to show it off to best advantage. The Ruth B. Smith Auditorium is such a beautiful performance hall. We want to bring it back to full functionality to compliment the performers who will be using the space.
Please consider helping out the Orange Town Hall Restoration Committee with a tax-deductible donation sent and payable to Town Of Orange, 6 Prospect Street, Orange, MA 01364, with Stage Lighting in the memo line. Donations are also accepted on the Town Of Orange website. Go to townoforange.org click on epayments then Town Hall Restoration and write "Lights" in the memo.
Thank you for your ongoing financial support of the Orange Town Hall Restoration.

The next phase of Town Hall Restoration will be to raise enough money to install the rudiments of a good stage lighting system. We are seeking estimates and planning to start active fundraising soon. Dear Friends of the Orange Town Hall Restoration Efforts,
A lot has happened since last summer when we asked for help to restore the Town Of Orange's beautiful 1912 Grand Drape depicting the Concord Minuteman Statue. In three months we raised the $5,500 needed to complete the restoration by Curtains Without Borders. We also raised $2000 to cover the estimated cost of rigging it. Since then we discovered that in order to hang the restored curtain, we need to move the existing fly curtains to other pipes, purchase additional pipes and rigging material, and find a licensed professional to perform the work. We needed to have a structural engineer give us a report before proceeding. We do have the funds for hanging the curtain, but not for the additional curtain work which should be done at the same time. We are moving ahead with additional estimates for lighting and rigging, and hope to have firm estimates soon.
The next step now is to raise the money needed to install stage lighting. We are asking for estimates in three steps: One to cover very basic lighting for general stage usage; one for production quality lighting to be used for other projects; and one for "state-or the art stage lighting." We also need a sound system, and it may be more efficient to combine bids for lights and sound.
In any event, we need more money to complete work on the stage to make it fully functional.
The curtain is looking wonderful, and we are anxiously awaiting lighting to show it off to best advantage. The auditorium is such a beautiful performance hall. We want to bring it back to full functionality with lights and sound systems to compliment the performers who will be using the space.
