Ava's Little Library Etiquette
The standard “take a book, leave a book” motto is good, but here are some further, more nuanced, rules.

Don’t Empty the Library
If you think you’re going to make oodles of money by selling them, you are incorrect, unless someone dropped off an incredibly rare book. Emptying Ava's Little Library is selfish, and you don’t want to be selfish, do you?

Don’t Overstuff the Library
Only drop off books you think your community will pick up and read. Otherwise Ava's Little Library gets clogged up and other people won’t be able to shelve their good books!

Do Remove Garbage
It should go without saying that you should not put garbage in Ava's Little Library. It keeps the library looking fresh.

Don’t Fill It With Propaganda
Sure. You have the best belief system or political candidate or whatever and want to spread the word, but Ava's Little Library is not your podium or advertising space. It is meant to be a kind community sharing good books.

Think Before You Donate
While we believe there is value in ALL books and reading should not be restricted, Ava's Little Library is managed by a child with parental supervision. Be sure the material you are sharing is appropriate.

Be Safe
Ava's Little Library will be video monitored. It should go without saying, but NEVER put anything in the library that could cause the stewards or community harm or injury. Also, watch for traffic. You are responsible for your own safety!
