Today is Flag Day commemorating the adoption of the flag of the United States on June 14, 1777, by resolution of the Second Continental Congress.

Though it had changed through the years, today we remember all the flag symbolizes:
- Unity
- Liberty
- Justice
- Equal representation and treatment

The flag belongs to everyone and reminds us all that we must fight for the rights and dignity of all the people it represents.

Fly your flag high today and remember what we strive to create in this grand experiment we call The United States of America.

Tomorrow June 13 @ 9:30 am will be the monthly meeting of our committee. We will be hosting James Bruce Monroe, III of the Orange County African American Historical Society who will be speaking about the Jim Crow era of Orange County's history. Members of the committee and non-members alike are welcome to come and hear Mr. Monroe speak.

Orange County African American Historical Society will also be hosting a Juneteenth celebration on June 19 from 3:00PM - 6:00PM at the African American Commemorative Park located at the corner of Church and Chapman Streets. More information can be found here: https://www.ocaahs.org/juneteenth

We had a great time at Culpeper Pride yesterday with our friends at Culpeper Democrats. Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate and support our friends in the LGBTQIA+ community.

Thanks to everyone that joined us at the Orange Volunteer Fire Department Fireman's parade. We had a great time seeing all of our friends and neighbors and celebrating thr hard work and dedication of our local first responders.

As June starts and Pride Month kicks off the Orange County Democratic Committee would like to reiterate that we stand with the LGBTQIA+ community. Now more than ever the community is under attack and needs the support of allies and partners to fight for the human rights of all.
