The Orange Schools has an available school bus contract. Please read below for further details.

Independent owner/operator school bus driver needed for an established route. Drivers are independent contractors, and are not employees of the Orange Board of Education. The successful candidate will adhere to the rates and terms of the existing Transportation Agreement of the Orange Board of Education. The current term of the Agreement is 7/1/2024 thru 6/30/2027. Candidates wishing to secure the route permanently, must have a bus that is no more than seven years old from the year of the contract year. Type I School Bus, painted Standard yellow, with a minimum capacity of seventy one (71) students in operation prior to the start of the 2026- 27 school year. The bus used in the performance of this route shall be located and taxed in the Town of Orange to ensure timely implementation of routes and availability for early/late routes during inclement weather, or any other change in school start or dismissal time. Purchase documentation shall be made available for review by the B.O.E or its agents.

The Town of Orange would like to remind our FB Friends the deadline to purchase unlimited ride wristbands online for the OVFD Carnival is Thursday, July 30th at 3:00 PM. After 3:00 PM, online wristband sales close and only single ride tickets will be available at the carnival.

🎒 The Town of Orange is proud to support the Orange Youth Services Teen Representatives School Supply Drive!

Starting now through August 17, you can help local students by donating new, unopened school supplies.

📍 Donations can be dropped off at the Community Services Office at High Plains OCC during regular business hours (8:30 AM–4:00 PM).

Every notebook, folder, pencil, and glue stick helps ensure local students are prepared for a successful school year.

Here is a PSA about the Democrat Primary Election will taking place on August 11, 2026.

Orange Residents who are registered Democrats may vote:

At High Plains Community Center on 8/11/26 from 6 am - 8 pm.

At Town Hall during Early Voting from 8/3 through 8/9 from 10 am - 6 pm except for 8/4 and 8/6. Extended hours for these 2 days is 8 am - 8 pm.

By applying for an Absentee Ballot. Absentee Ballots will be available beginning 7/21/26 in the Town Clerk's Office.

Orange America 250 Celebration Set for July 3:

We are just days away from Orange’s historic America 250 Celebration!

As Chairman of the Orange America 250 Committee, I am honored and excited to invite residents and visitors alike to join us on Friday, July 3, 2026, as we celebrate the 250th anniversary of the United States of America and honor the enduring spirit of American exceptionalism.

The celebration will begin at 6:00 p.m. with patriotic remarks, the reading of an official proclamation, and a special opening ceremony. We are also proud to welcome the Chester Fife & Drum Corps, whose stirring performance will help commemorate our nation’s founding, followed by Alex Shilo and the Badlands, Connecticut’s premier All-American tribute band. The evening will also feature food trucks, photo booths, family-friendly activities, and much more.

We encourage everyone to bring their friends, family, and neighbors, and to show their American pride by wearing RED, WHITE, AND BLUE!🇺🇸

Parking will be available for $5 per vehicle (cash only). The Orange Little League will once again be fundraising during the event to help support their annual trip to Cooperstown, so we encourage attendees to bring cash and support this outstanding local organization.

Heat Advisory: Current forecasts indicate temperatures may be exceptionally high during the event. We encourage all attendees to stay well hydrated, wear light-colored clothing, apply sunscreen, and take advantage of shade whenever possible. Those attending with young children, older adults, or individuals with underlying health conditions should exercise additional caution and monitor for signs of heat-related illness. Our goal is for everyone to enjoy this historic celebration safely and comfortably.

This promises to be an unforgettable evening as our community comes together to celebrate 250 years of freedom, liberty, and the American spirit. We look forward to celebrating with you on July 3!
