Attention Orange County residents: Please be aware of a phone scam currently targeting people in our area. The scammer is calling and pretending to be an Orange County Deputy, providing a badge number, and falsely claiming that the person failed to appear for jury duty. They will then try to pressure you into paying a fee over the phone to avoid legal trouble.
‼️ THIS IS A SCAM! ‼️
The Orange County Sheriff's Office will never call and ask for money over the phone. If you receive one of these calls, do not provide any personal information or payment.
