For over four decades, The Technology Center, formerly named Calhoun-Orangeburg Vocational Education Center (COVEC), has been dedicated to helping students advance their lives through career and technical education. The Technology Center has earned several honors such as the Blue Ribbon School of Excellence Light House Award, Palmetto Gold and is a Red Carpet school. A significant component of The

Technology Center experience is the opportunity for ALL students in OCSD5 to explore career and technical education in 13 different career programs. By taking career related electives, students learn job skills and enhance their academic skills through application and hands-on activities. This process will assist them in post high school activities whether they are continuing their education or entering the workforce.

We’re excited to launch a district-wide community initiative aimed at supporting families across Orangeburg County through our OCSD Food Truck!

This year, our food truck will hit the road for four (4) community events, serving nutritious meals and bringing resources directly to the neighborhoods we serve. It’s all part of our commitment to strengthening community connections and caring for the whole child.

First stop is at The Orangeburg Technology Center on November 18th from 5 PM to 7 PM!

Seventeen Accounting 1 students completed the Bank of America Financial Literacy Challenge and received their Financial Literacy Certification.

The Financial Literacy challenge covered savings, investing, credit, debt, insurance, and financial planning. Students also demonstrated the skills necessary to manage personal cash flow overtime, and built a personal investing portfolio. Congratulations to these students and their teacher Laviesha Frazier!
