SCAM ALERT!

Our office was contacted today by a member of the public who reported receiving emails purporting to originate from our office. These emails are fraudulent. The emails are from a gmail account clearly designed to create the impression that they are coming from our office. The address includes both DA Daniel Lynn's name and a reference to the Columbia County DA office with the messages are supposedly from a paralegal. According to the reporting party, the emails began several months ago with a claim that money was owed to her from a financial institution, and that those reimbursement funds were being dispersed by our office. Most recently, the messages asked the reporting party to come to the Columbia County Courthouse to be able to collect the funds. This matter is being referred for investigation.

We are not aware of any other incidents at this time, but we ask that anyone who has been similarly contacted to call our office at (570) 389-5656.

Thankfully we had no reported injuries during last night's storm. Crews are still out cleaning up trees and opening roads. If you see something we missed please call it in. There are alot of power lines down, do not approach or touch downed lines!

**UPDATE** Road is now open

Rohrsburg Rd is closed between Green Creek and Neyhart Rd. We know this is a common occurrence when we get heavy rains but we encourage everyone to obey the Road Closed signs! They are for your safety! There have been a few citations issued for going around the signs. Don't let the next one be YOU! Use caution over the next few days for fallen trees across the roadways, especially after dark. If you see a flooded roadway or a tree in the road please call and report it.
