***TRAVEL ADVISORY/STATE OF EMERGENCY UPDATE*** 12/28/22 11:00 A.M.
Effective 11:00 A.M. today the Travel Advisory and State of Emergency for the Town and Village of Orchard Park have been lifted!
As we start another day of storm response, please consider checking on your neighbors if it is safe to do so. A phone call, an offer to clear a path to a door, or even just a few kind words can mean all the difference to a neighbor in need.
Our 858-SNOW line is open for non-emergency calls - which would include requests for transport to dialysis - and requests for information.
Please do not call this number with requests for snowplows or updates on power outages. DPW crews are working 24/7 on snow clearance; utility companies are doing the same for power.
Town Of Orchard Park, Erie County
We are receiving many calls from medical personnel asking for assistance getting to the hospitals so they can relieve those who have been stuck there for the past 3 days.
We are directing anyone in this situation to call 716-858-SNOW.
***TRAVEL BAN STILL IN EFFECT***
Update 12/25/22 8:05 a.m.
Erie County still has a travel ban in effect. We realize looking out your window it doesn't look bad in Orchard Park right now but the snow is supposed to move back in.
Staying home is the best present you can give anyone today. Many towns in Erie County have stranded vehicles still in the roadway. Help emergency responders, county and town plow drivers, tow trucks, and everyone trying to get people the help they need.
***Town and Village Residents***
Please check on your senior/disabled neighbors! Especially those who you believe are home, and you have not had contact with, or whose houses do not show signs of activity.
You can contact our department at 716-662-6444 for assistance if you know any senior/disabled person that resides at a specific address, and you cannot check on them yourself!
****UPDATE 12/24/22 8:30 a.m.
The driving/travel ban is still in place for all of Erie County. At this time the snow band is north of Orchard Park, and is expected to move south. Stay at home!
