Valley County Economic Development is seeking proposals for the development of residential properties at 2005 K Street, 1820 L Street, and 816 S 20th Street in Ord. Special incentives apply to the purchase and development of the properties, and incentive stacking is allowed for the development.
One program that can be used to purchase and develop these residential properties is the Infill Housing Rebate, which allows for these eligible uses:
-- Acquisition and demolition of dilapidated, unsafe, or abandoned homes.
-- Building of new homes or multi-family units on infill properties within municipal limits for rent or sale.
-- Renovation of homes or multi-family units for rent or sale. Not intended for downpayment assistance.
-- Program can be used for 2nd story housing redevelopment in downtown business districts.
Infill Housing Rebate funds have special restrictions that include:
-- Funds cannot be used for primary, secondary, or short-term stay residences like an AirBnB. Funds must be used for workforce housing, either for sale or rent.
-- Redevelopment improvements of single or multi-family units must comply with local zoning requirements and safe building requirements.
The Infill Housing Rebate opens for application June 1st and applications can be found here:https://ordnebraska.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/08/Infill-Housing-Redevelopment-Fund-Application-and-Guidelines-2.pdf
