Please join us in congratulating Richelle, our newest fully certified dispatcher! 🎉

Last week, Richelle officially completed training and is now certified to work independently in all disciplines (police dispatch, fire dispatch, and call taking).

Joining our team as a lateral dispatcher from a neighboring agency, Richelle brought experience to the table while also taking on the challenge of learning new systems, procedures, and ways of doing the job. Transitioning between agencies takes a tremendous amount of hard work, adaptability, and dedication, and Richelle has demonstrated all of those qualities throughout training.

A special thank you as well to all of the coaches who helped guide Richelle throughout the process, including her final coach, Ron, pictured here. The time, mentorship, and support our training staff provide play a huge role in the success of every dispatcher who comes through the program.

We are proud to welcome her to the ranks of our certified dispatchers. Congratulations, Richelle, and thank you for your commitment to serving our community and first responders! 👏🚔🚒📞

🌡️ Hot weather is on the way. Plan ahead and stay safe.

Temperatures across the region are expected to climb into the upper 80s to low 90s tomorrow (Sunday 5/3), according to the US National Weather Service Portland Oregon. With the heat comes increased risk, both from heat-related illness and cold water hazards.

☀️ Heat Safety Tips:
• Stay hydrated: Drink water throughout the day
• Take breaks in the shade or air conditioning
• Check on vulnerable friends, family, and neighbors
• Never leave children or pets in vehicles

💧 Water Safety Reminder:
Rivers and lakes may look inviting, but the water may still be dangerously cold. Cold water shock can happen in seconds… even for strong swimmers.

• Wear a life jacket
• Keep children within arm’s reach
• Avoid alcohol near the water
• Be aware of currents and changing conditions

Enjoy the warm weather, but make safety part of your plan.

We want to take a moment to recognize the incredible support that was shown during National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week (celebrated April 12th-18th)

To our partner agencies and community members: thank you for the food, treats, and thoughtful gestures throughout the week. Your generosity made a meaningful impact and served as a great reminder of the strong partnerships that support our team every day.

During the week, we also had the privilege of recognizing several of our own through a variety of awards. Among them were Employee of the Year, Telecommunicator of the Year, and honors recognizing outstanding skill, professionalism, and composure during some of the most significant and high-stress incidents over the past year. These recognitions reflect just a portion of the exceptional work happening behind the scenes every day.

And one more well-deserved recognition to all of our dispatchers…. your commitment, resilience, and professionalism are the backbone of what we do. You are the calm voice in critical moments and an essential link in keeping our community and responders safe.

Thank you again to everyone who helped make the week so special, and to our dispatchers for everything you do, every day.

Further details can be found in the caption of each photo.

Today we recognize two incredible members of our team as we celebrate Administrative Professionals Day!

Meg, our Administrative Services Supervisor, and Kristen, our Records Specialist, play a vital role behind the scenes, keeping everything running smoothly day in and day out. From managing critical records to supporting operations and staff, their attention to detail, organization, and dedication do not go unnoticed.

Their work is essential to our mission, and we are grateful for the professionalism, reliability, and care they bring to our agency every single day.

Thank you, Meg and Kristen, for all that you do!

🍫✨ We’re halfway through National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week and the sweetness just keeps coming! ✨🍬

Our W***y Wonka themed week has been nothing short of incredible, and our team has truly been spoiled with delicious food, treats, and thoughtful surprises from our partner agencies and community members.

Your generosity and support mean so much to our telecommunicators, who work around the clock to serve our community. Every snack, meal, and kind gesture is a reminder that their hard work does not go unnoticed!

From all of us behind the headsets… thank you for helping make this week so special! 💛🖤💛

We made it to Day 2 of National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week 🍫✨

This year’s theme might be W***y Wonka, but the real magic is happening right here in our communications center.

Behind every call is a voice of calm, a steady hand, and a mind working at lightning speed. Our telecommunicators are the golden ticket! Guiding callers through chaos, coordinating first responders, and making a difference in moments that matter most.

Like Wonka’s factory, there’s a lot happening behind the scenes that most never see…. but without it, none of the magic would be possible.

To our incredible staff: thank you for your dedication, your resilience, and the care you bring to every single call. You are the heart of what we do, and we’re so grateful for each of you.

Stay golden 💛

Big congratulations to our newest fully certified dispatcher, Ashley (left) who completed her police training on March 18th! 👏

Completing the final phase of dispatch training is no small feat. As a lateral from a neighboring dispatch center, Ashley came to us with a strong foundation and took on the challenge of learning new systems, policies, and expectations. That willingness to adapt, relearn, and grow speaks volumes about her professionalism and dedication to the role.

We also want to recognize her final coach, also named Ashley (right), for her guidance and support during the last phase of training. We also thank all of the coaches who helped shape Ashley’s journey along the way. Your time, patience, and mentorship are what make successes like this possible.

Ashley, we’re excited to have you on the floor in a fully certified capacity! Congratulations on this well-earned achievement! 🎉
