May's Stewardship Saturday was a wonderful success! We had volunteers join us from a variety of Community Groups including community volunteers from S.O.L.V.E and the STREAMN team, as well as kids from Oregon City High School. Volunteers helped with weeding and mulching around the entrance of the ELC. Indoor volunteers supported families visiting the free, drop-in Nature Spy Discovery Days about baby animals.

We recently held our annual Wetland Delineation course at Clackamas Community College Harmony Campus. Each day started with an in-class presentation and then we walked across the parking lot to Three Creeks Natural Area so the participants could get their hands dirty doing plant ID, digging soil pits, and evaluating the soil hydrology. Thanks again to our sponsors for helping to make this event possible: Clackamas County, Oregon Water Environment Services and Society of Wetland Scientists-Pacific Northwest Chapter.

We have a handful of spots left in our upcoming Practical Wetland Plant ID course. The recent wetland delineation class touched on some common plant species but there are many more to be explored! This two-day course focuses on the wetland species that are most important to know in wetland delineation process, studying the trees and shrubs the 1st day and the forbs, sedges, rushes, and grasses on the 2nd day. https://bit.ly/4vJaze1

April’s Stewardship Saturday was a wonderful success! We had volunteers join us from a variety of Community Groups including community volunteers from S.O.L.V.E and the STREAMN team, as well as kids from Oregon City High School. Volunteers helped remove weeds, particularly right outside of the Pavilion making space for new native plants that were recently donated by CCC's Horticulture Department. Indoor volunteers supported families visiting the free, drop-in Nature Spy Discovery Days about Frogs.
