It takes time, patience, and listening—taking the time to understand a person’s story rather than simply responding to a need.

It means discerning what a person is able to do for themselves, recognizing their God-given strengths, and speaking words that encourage them to see their own potential.

And it takes commitment to prayer—trusting God with the person we serve and remembering that transformation is ultimately His work.

At Love INC, we believe compassionate service isn’t just about meeting a need today. It’s about walking alongside people in ways that encourage growth, dignity, hope, and lasting change.

Because when we serve with compassion and purpose, we don’t just meet people’s needs—we meet people. ❤️

Principle #5 of Redemptive Compassion: Respond with Discernment & Wisdom

When someone is experiencing challenges in life, our first impulse may be to quickly jump in with an answer or solution. But a wise response—not a reaction or impulse—is a far better way to engage.

James 1:19 reminds us to be “quick to listen, slow to speak...”

If we truly want to help in the best way, we must first listen to understand. Then, we can pray for wisdom and use discernment to respond in a way that honors the person, affirms their value, and encourages lasting transformation.
