It’s a sad commentary on the cognitive status of the United States Body Politic which necessitates an explanation of the Declaration of Independence phrase, that all men are “created” equal; through the fertilization of a human egg. The CREATION of a human being has nothing to do with the infinite possibilities which may influence the outcome of future events and choices.

Did you get your ballot? 📬 The Clerk’s office began mailing ballots to West Linn registered voters last week for the March 14, 2023 Special Election for two city councilor positions. Ballots must be mailed with a valid postmark or returned to an official ballot drop box by 8 p.m. on Election Day, March 14, 2023. No postage is needed. Registered voters who haven’t received a ballot by now should contact Clackamas County Elections for a replacement.

Official ballot drop boxes, open for this election 24/7 until 8 p.m. on Election Day, March 14, are at West Linn City Hall the West Linn Public Library, and Clackamas County Elections (in Oregon City). Ballots must be placed in official ballot drop boxes by that time, or mailed (with a valid postmark) by that time.

9/11/2020 - Message from Canby Fire Chief:

Good morning. We just completed a morning briefing presented by the SW Area incident management team. We have this federal type 1 team in town and taking over management of these fires. At this time, they are saying there is no consideration of expanding any areas into level 3. The focus areas currently are the Estacada and Molalla fronts. They are seeing the east winds reduce and coastal winds increase. This is good weather news, increasing humidity levels (yesterday was 10-15 percent, today is 30-40 percent, and tonight probably 70-80 percent). Because the winds are low, the finer fuels (grasses, etc) become less of a threat, but the heavier fuels (timbers, etc) still burn but at slower rates. I'll send the map they presented as well.

It's difficult to express the loss of a distinguished Legislator, as well as a friend. However, our great loss is heaven's gain. We'll miss you Vic; even more than we have been since your resignation.
