Did you know that the Oregon City Shuttle has a new service route that started, designed to help fill transportation gaps created by recent TriMet service changes? The Oregon City Shuttle is part of the Clackamas County Connect Shuttle Service, which provides connections to the transit system in urban and rural areas. The Youth Advisory Commission is ready for a new year!

YAC members and their families gathered at Rivercrest Park Monday evening to connect, get to know one another, and kick off the 2026–2027 term.

This year’s Commission brings together seven new members and eight returning members representing a variety of grade levels and schools across the Oregon City community, including Oregon City High School, Clackamas Academy of Industrial Sciences, and North Clackamas Christian School.

We’re excited to see the ideas, leadership, and energy this group brings to the year ahead. Please join us in welcoming the 2026–2027 Youth Advisory Commission!

Oregon City's kids will be heading back to school in a little less than a week. That means school zones will be active once again. Plan to give yourself some extra time starting next week to allow for busier roads as families get back into a routine, and keep to the school zone speed limits to help keep our kids safe!
There are three main types of school zone signs drivers may encounter. The "When Flashing" sign, usually found on busier roads near schools, where the speed limit only applies when flashing. The "When Children Are Present" signs, generally found on roads a bit further from schools or near crosswalks, are enforced when children are occupying or walking in a crosswalk, or when a crossing guard is present. Then the "School Days 7 AM to 5 PM" signs which are also found closer to schools, similar to the flashing signs.

Heading into fall, there’s a lot to talk about in the McLoughlin Neighborhood!

Join the McLoughlin Neighborhood Association this Thursday to hear from Oregon City Parks & Recreation Director on plans for the Oregon City swimming pool, changes coming to Clackamette Park, and the future of the End of the Oregon Trail Interpretive Center. Oregon City Planning staff will also share information about compatible change in the McLoughlin Conservation District.

It's that time of year again where the City starts recruiting for volunteers to serve on various boards and commissions. Currently there are spots to fill on:
Planning Commission – hears land use applications and provides recommendations to the City Commission on land use policy changes.

•Historic Review Board – reviews applications to improve buildings in the City’s historic districts.
•Enhancement Grant Program Committee – approves grants for events and projects.
•Budget Committee – approves the budget for the City’s programs and funds.
•Urban Renewal Budget Committee – approves the budget for the Oregon City Urban Renewal Agency.
•Arts Commission – provides guidance on City art projects and reviews mural applications.
•Library Board – an advisory group for the Oregon City Library.
•Natural Resources Committee – provides input on natural resources issues.
•Transportation Advisory Committee – works with traffic-related issues.
•Parks & Recreation Advisory Committee – advisory group for development of City parks.
