Heads up: ODOT has pushed back the overnight closures of the Abernethy Bridge again.

The overnight closure of I-205 northbound across the Abernethy Bridge is postponed another week and will now be Saturday night, June 27. These postponements are necessary because crews need additional time to complete critical work ahead of the planned concrete bridge deck pour.
June 27 will be the first in a series of overnight directional closures of the I-205 Abernethy Bridge this summer as crews pour concrete on the newly-widened bridge deck. These overnight closures will either be northbound or southbound but not both directions at the same time. This work depends on dry weather and necessary prep work, and schedules may change or shift on short notice.
Details of the first nighttime directional closure:
• Overnight directional closure of I-205 northbound across the Abernethy Bridge (between OR 99E and OR 43) Saturday, June 27 from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m.
• The following on-ramp will also close:
• OR 43 on-ramp to I-205 northbound.
Local and Regional Detours
• Northbound traffic will bypass I-205 in this section by using detours on I-5 and I-84.
• Local traffic can use the Arch Bridge to cross the river.
• Southbound I-205 lanes will remain open.
Additional nighttime closures of I-205 northbound across the bridge are planned in July. We will send out more emails when dates are confirmed.

School's out, but there's still one important deadline to catch - Youth Advisory Commission applications close next Friday, June 26 at 5 p.m.

The City is looking for passionate, thoughtful, and engaged high school students who want to help make a difference in our community. The Youth Advisory Commission gives youth a seat at the table to share ideas, advocate for youth peers, and help guide local decisions.

Do you know a 9th–12th grade student who lives in Oregon City or attends a school within City limits? Encourage them to apply and help shape the future of our community!

With the heatwave forecasted this weekend, we wanted to remind residents that the Oregon City Public Library serves as a cooling shelter. The library's regular hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday. If temperatures at closing time are above 100 degrees, the Community Room and restrooms will remain open to the public until temperatures drop back below the century mark.
