Arromanches 360 Museum
Located at the top of the cliffs overlooking the beaches, this museum has a good number of exhibits and explains the D-Day story well. The cinema provides a really good back story. Overall, a great experience to help understand this pivotal moment in WW2. 🎖️ Spotlight on Excellence at OCHS! 🎖️
This morning, our incredible JROTC cadets were featured in the news—and they made us proud! Their discipline, leadership, and sharp thinking earned high praise, and they continue to represent Oregon City High School with integrity and heart. 🇺🇸
JROTC is just one shining example of the many student groups at OCHS doing extraordinary things—whether it’s in the classroom, on the field, on stage, or in service to others. 💡🎨⚽🎶
We’re proud of every student who shows up, gives their best, and lifts up our school community.

We want to wish the best of luck to our outstanding OCHS JROTC team as they travel to Florida to compete in the National Drill Competitions!
This week, our cadets will be showcasing their skills at two prestigious events:
Friday, May 2nd: ARMYJROTC Unarmed NATIONAL Drill Competition in Daytona, Florida.
Saturday & Sunday, May 3rd & 4th: InterService Drill National Competition (Daytona), where all branches of the military JROTC programs compete against each other.
The team will be in Florida from April 30th to May 5th, proudly representing the entire northwest region as well as our Oregon City community. As a well-deserved break, some cadets will have the chance to visit Disney World in Orlando, explore the historic city of St. Augustine, or experience the thrill of the Daytona Speedway.
We are incredibly proud of their hard work, dedication, and the honor they bring to OCHS!
There will be a link to watch their competition on OCHS website once they are there.

OCHS JROTC traveled to Renton, Washington on Saturday to compete in the Northwest JROTC Conference Championships. Our Unarmed Drill, Academic and Color Guard #1 Teams placed 1st, Color Guard Team #2 placed 3rd and AirRifle Team placed 4th. Each of these Team Placements earned points toward the overall School Title. Which earned OC 3rd out of the 27 Schools that sent teams to the Championships.
Cadet Hannah Abbott, Sadie Couch, Mallory Columbus, Payton Solarski all placed first in their individual event category. Congratulations to these individuals.

Great job JROTC!

Cadet Ball rescheduled to 7 March (Friday grading day).
The Abernethy Center is available that day and we can reschedule for no additional charge if we rescheduled today. The most current forecast for tomorrow shows some thawing in the afternoon, but everything that does not evaporate will refreeze early tomorrow evening making driving conditions icy and dangerous.

Permission slips will go out again early next week. It will still be a graded assignment for this trimester. If you have a schedule conflict with the new date you will need to coordinate with me for a make up activity prior to the end of this grading period.

Have a safe weekend.
