The Biggest Week in American Birding starts TODAY 🐦, drawing thousands to Northwest Ohio to witness the magic of spring migration.
Birding in the U.S. has grown from Native American cultural traditions and early naturalists documenting birdlife into a hobby centered on observation, conservation, and appreciation. While it once often involved hunting and collecting, shifting attitudes, along with laws, education, and grassroots efforts, helped bird populations recover after steep declines. Today, birding is more popular than ever, uniting millions in celebrating and protecting the birds that share our world.
Are you out birding this week? Tag us in your photos or tell us what bird you're hoping to spot in the comments 📸
