Clay High School senior Maddison Franke has been selected to participate in the Toledo Mud Hens Home Run Showdown on Wednesday, June 10, celebrating the region’s top senior softball talent. She will compete against other high school athletes for the opportunity to win a scholarship awarded to the contest champion.

The Home Run Showdown will take place following the Mud Hens game. A game ticket is required for admission. After the game concludes, fans will be permitted to move to general admission seating to watch the competition. Discounted ticket pricing and special seating options are available for groups of 10 or more. Additionally, the school with the highest ticket sales will receive a $500 donation to its athletic department.

An excellent article highlighting the impactful community partnerships and investments being made to advance and carry on the tradition of Safety Town and safety education for our youngest learners. 🚧🦺

Safety Town, which is a program at Starr Elementary that helps teach four- and five-year-old children safety lessons, is getting a full rebuild thanks to generous help from the community, including construction from Clay High School students.

Today, we recognize a defining milestone for the Clay High School Class of 2026 and their final day as high school students🦅🎓

The senior class commemorated the occasion with Decision Day, a celebration of purpose, ambition, and achievement. Counselors announced post-graduation paths, including higher education, skilled trades and training programs, military enlistment, employment opportunities, and entrepreneurial pursuits. Students walked across stage and signed the senior banner!

As these graduates prepare to close one chapter and begin another, only one milestone remains, Graduation!🎓

We're sharing information about the Oregon Schools Foundation (OSF) to help spread awareness about this non-profit that directly supports all students in our district, grades K-12.

Founded in 1991, OSF is dedicated to supporting students by bringing together parents, community members, and local businesses with a shared goal: enhancing educational opportunities.

Here is what Eisenhower Intermediate School Principal, Mr. Sattler, said about OSF.

"Oregon School's Foundation has had a tremendous impact on Eisenhower Intermediate this school year. Not only were they the provider of our supplies and cart for Mrs. Moore's class coffee cart (Cup of Confidence), they have also been willing to help with so many other projects around our building. They were more than eager to help us bring to life new ideas we had next year with some of our attendance initiatives. OSF always listens to us with requests and works to find new and exciting ways to help fund projects throughout our school. OSF goes above and beyond to help our teachers take their ideas and plans and find ways to fund them and make the impact on our students even better!

Clay High School Model United Nations wrapped up this school year with two big first place wins! 🥇

Congratulations to Graeson Schroeder for winning Best Delegate for his role in leading the NATO Crisis Simulation about Somali Pirates to a peaceful and just resolution.

Leah Burkett represented the United Kingdom during the UN General Assembly Simulation, also earning the Best Delegate award for leading the body to a diplomatic resolution of the issue of slave labor in the 21st Century. Senior, Donnie Gerathy was recruited to work the competition as staff this season, a high compliment!

The team is lead by Clay High School Teacher, Erin D. Weiker M.Ed. Way to go Eagles! 🌎 🦅
