Public Meeting Notice - School Resource Officer Discussion🚨
The Oregon Police Department would like to share information regarding an upcoming meeting hosted by the Oregon School District on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, at 5:30 p.m. in the Oregon School District Meeting Room, 123 E. Grove St., Oregon, WI.
Village leadership, including the Village Administrator and the Oregon Police Department Chief of Police, will participate in a discussion regarding:
• Review of the School Resource Officer (SRO) Program for the 2025-2026 school year
• Discussion of the SRO Agreement for the 2026-2027 school year
The School Resource Officer Program represents an important partnership between the Oregon School District and the Village of Oregon. As these discussions help shape future collaboration and support for students, staff, and the community, we believe it is important for residents to be aware of the conversation taking place.
Those who would like to learn more about the program, hear the discussion firsthand, and stay informed on matters involving school safety and community partnerships may wish to attend.

Do you have unwanted cleaning chemicals, mercury thermometers, paints, stains, other household hazardous waste or small electronics that you're looking to dispose of?

The Village of Oregon is excited to partner with Dane County Clean Sweep and the Madison Area Municipal Stormwater Partnership to offer our residents an opportunity to safely dispose of household hazardous waste for only $5!

There are 125 discounted $5 online vouchers (available to Village of Oregon residents only) for household hazardous waste disposal available (normally $15/vehicle).

Vouchers must be obtained in advance and redeemed at the Dane County Clean Sweep Facility anytime during open business hours, Monday, Sept. 14th-Saturday, Sept. 19th.

Clean Sweep Facility Hours: Mon.-Fri. 7:15 am-3:15 pm, Sat. 8 am-10:45 am, closed Sunday

🗳️ Election Day is TOMORROW!

🚧As many of you know, the CTH CC (Jefferson Street) and Alpine intersection has been closed this summer as part of a 🚦traffic signal 🚦 installation project. To help voters access the polls, the intersection will be open on Election Day ONLY. 🚧

⚠️Please note that this is still an active construction site, and construction crews will be working throughout the day. We ask that all motorists and pedestrians use extra caution when traveling through the area.

While the intersection will be accessible, we still encourage residents to follow the marked detour routes if possible.

Before heading out to vote, be sure to confirm your assigned polling location at myvote.wi.gov. Remember, on Election Day, you MUST vote at your designated polling place.

💛 Be patient.
✅ Plan ahead.
🚗 Drive carefully.
🗳️ Cast your ballot!
