🌪 🚨 Important information about tornado sirens 🌪 🚨

Did you know that Dane County’s outdoor warning sirens only activate in the area covered by a warning? The county uses a zone-based method for activations, so only sirens directly affected by the areas included in a Tornado Warning or a Severe Thunderstorm Warning with the “Destructive” tag will sound. That warning area is set by the National Weather Service office in Milwaukee/Sullivan.

Please report potential siren issues to [email protected].

Sirens are tested on the first Wednesday of every month at noon, unless there is a risk of severe weather on that day.

🌱♻️ Sustainability Wins in the Village of Oregon! ♻️🌱

We’re feeling great about our Green Box partnership!

Since launching in April 2024, Village residents have been turning food scraps into something amazing and the results are growing fast 🌿

✨ Here’s what we’ve accomplished together:
🏡 44 households currently participating
🍌 10,016 pounds of organic material diverted in 2025 alone
🌎 16,458 pounds kept out of landfills since the program began
💰 All for under $12,000 in Village support

That’s a whole lot of peels, scraps, and leftovers getting a second life instead of going to waste 👏

The Village Board approved the Sustainability Committee’s recommendation to continue the Green Box partnership earlier this year! The Village will provide a $10/month subsidy per household (up to 100 residents) to keep composting affordable and accessible.

💚 This program helps reduce waste, protect our environment, and grow a greener community together!

⚠️SPECIAL BRUSH COLLECTION MAY 19 & 20⚠️

Due to the recent storms and high winds, the Public Works Department will be conducting a SPECIAL TWO-DAY brush collection service to assist residents with cleanup.
