BOIL ORDER LIFTED – OREGON TRAIL ROAD

The boil order issued for customers affected by the water main break on Oregon Trail Road near North 13th Street has been lifted.

Water samples were collected and have passed testing. Customers in the affected area may resume normal use of their wate

Water Main Break & Boil Order Update

Following up on last night’s water main break notice, we want to provide an update to our residents.

The water main did break further down the line on the existing water main. We have determined that the break was related to improper bedding of the pipe when it was originally installed.

Due to the number of recent repairs, we are currently looking into long-term solutions to help prevent these issues from continuing.

At this time, everyone who was tagged is under a boil order. We are hoping to have the required water samples back first thing tomorrow morning. Once the samples are cleared and the boil order is lifted, we will post an update on Facebook. Green tags will also be placed on the doors of affected properties.

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and frustration these repeated water issues have caused. We appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding as we work to address both the immediate problem and a more permanent solution.

WATER MAIN BREAK – OREGON TRAIL ROAD

The City of Oregon Public Works Department is responding to a water main break on Oregon Trail Road near North 13th Street.

Oregon Trail Road in the area of the break will be closed until further notice while crews make the necessary repairs. Please avoid the area and use an alternate route if possible.

Some customers in the affected area will experience a loss of water service at some point tonight. City crews are distributing door hangers to the customers who may be affected so they are aware of the situation.

Customers who lose water service will also be placed under a boil order. The boil order will remain in effect until the repair is completed, the water system is restored and water samples have been collected and receive passing test results.

Customers under the boil order should boil water for at least 5 minutes before using it for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth or other purposes involving consumption.

The City will provide updates as work progresses. All updates regarding the road closure, water service and boil order will be posted here on the City of Oregon page.

We appreciate your patience while our crews work to get the water service restored and the road reopened.

Due to recent and expected weather conditions, the City of Oregon’s herbicide application schedule has been EXTENDED.

The application period has been moved to August 20–31, 2026, weather permitting. Applications will take place between 7:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.

The City will be treating public rights-of-way throughout Oregon to help control w**ds and maintain clean, safe, and well-maintained areas.

⚠️ PLEASE NOTE: The schedule has been extended specifically because of weather. Applications will only be completed when conditions are appropriate for safe and effective treatment.

**WHERE:** Public rights-of-way throughout Oregon, including fence lines, City-owned turfgrass, landscape areas, trees and shrubs.

**WHEN:** August 20–21, 2026
**TIME:** 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m.

**PRODUCTS & USES:**

• **Ranger Pro** – Glyphosate; nonselective w**d control. Fence lines. **Rate:** 2–3 oz./gal.

• **Dimension 2EW** – Dithiopyr; preemergent w**d control. Fence lines. **Rate:** 0.28–0.73 oz./gal.

• **Triad Select** – 2,4-D, MCPA, Dicamba; selective broadleaf control. City-owned turfgrass. **Rate:** 1.1–1.5 oz./1,000 sq. ft.

• **Talak 7.9** – Bifenthrin; insect and mite control. Trees/shrubs. **Rate:** 0.25–0.50 oz./1,000 sq. ft.

• **Treflan 5G** – Trifluralin; preemergent w**d control. Landscape beds/containers. **Rate:** 1.8 lbs./acre.

• **Tordon RTU** – Picloram, 2,4-D; woody w**d control. Fence lines. **Rate:** Ready-to-use.

🌳 EXTRA STORM BRUSH PICKUP – MONDAY, AUGUST 17 🌳

Due to the recent storms and the amount of storm-related tree debris throughout the community, the Oregon Public Works Department will be conducting an additional citywide brush pickup on Monday, August 17.

To ensure your brush is collected, please follow the City's Brush Collection Guidelines:

✅ Place brush at the terrace by 7:00 a.m. on Monday, August 17.

Brush must be larger than 1 inch in diameter. (Branches less than 1 inch are considered yard waste.)
Stack brush parallel and as close to the curb as possible.
Do not place brush in the street.
Brush piles may not exceed 4 feet high, 4 feet deep, and 12 feet long, with 1 foot of space between piles.
Do not place brush under low-hanging trees, around utility poles, behind obstructions, or on top of water valves.
Brush that is not stacked properly or is considered yard waste will not be collected.
