As we look at the forecast for the rest of the week, it looks like Mother Nature isn't quite done with us yet. They are tracking another round of rain and potential thunderstorms heading our way tomorrow, Thursday, through the weekend.
Please stay weather-aware, keep an eye on local alerts, and drive safely if you encounter water ponding on our streets, power lines that are down or tree debris.
With more rain on the horizon, I want to take a moment to extend a massive thank you to our incredible Public Works Department. This storm season has thrown everything at Orland Hillsβfrom severe downpours to recent tornado threats and high winds. Through it all, our Public Works crew has been out there on the front lines in the worst conditions. They have worked tirelessly to clear downed trees, manage localized flooding, keep our roadways clear, and ensure our village stays safe and functional. Their dedication often means missing time with their own families during emergencies to protect ours.
We are incredibly fortunate to have such a hardworking, resilient crew looking out for Orland Hills.
Please join me in thanking them for their outstanding service this year! Stay safe and stay dry this weekend.
