Join the Orland Park Veterans Advisory Board for the Salute to Veterans Luncheon on Saturday, May 16 from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. The celebration includes lunch, veterans support groups and musical entertainment. The event is hosted by Veterans Voices and lunch is provided by City Barbeque. Reservations are not required. Veterans and one guest are free; additional guests are $5 each.

The Village of Orland Park proudly honors the heroes in our community with our Hometown Heroes Military Banner Program. Banners will be displayed on Ravinia Ave. from 143rd to 159th St. from Memorial Day through Veterans Day.

Support local veterans with our Queen of Hearts raffle! The pot is currently at $4,755. Tickets are available daily at Tommy T's Tavern located at 9400 W. 143rd St. A drawing is held each Wednesday at 8 p.m. and there is no need to be present to win.

Should the week's winner select the Queen of Hearts, they will win half the pot, with the other half going to the Orland Park Veterans Advisory Board to be used for various veterans' causes. If the queen is not selected, they will win $100.00.

Tickets are $5 for 6 tickets, $10 for 13 tickets, and $20 for 27 tickets. All ticket purchasers and winners must be 21+ years of age. Stop by Tommy T's to buy your tickets today!

The Orland Park community is invited to join the Village this Veterans Day, November 11, at the Ara Pacé - Place of Peace Memorial at the Civic Center (14750 S. Ravinia Avenue in Orland Park) at 11 a.m. as we honor the Veterans who proudly served our country.

Have extra Halloween candy this year? The Veterans Advisory Board is collecting Halloween candy to add to their military care packages. All leftover candy can be donated at Village Hall (14700 S. Ravinia Ave.), Sportsplex (11351 W. 159th St.) and Orland Health and Fitness (15430 West Ave.).
