Thank you Honeybee Discovery Center for celebrating pollinator week at the library! We observed live bees, and learned about the importance of bees and pollination with crafts and hands-on activities. 🐝

The California State Library’s heart is with the Butte County Library and Chico community. Libraries should be spaces of safety and acceptance, and we are shocked and saddened at the tragic event that occurred yesterday.

We are grateful for the quick action by first responders to detain the suspect and prevent further tragedy.

Just 15–20 minutes of reading each day can make a big difference! Let your child choose books that interest them, and make reading a fun part of your family's routine.

Our Children's Librarian, Miss Ashley, set her storytime record by reading, "Tales of the Dairy Godmother" to the 200+ that attended Ice Cream & Cows with Glenn County Farm Bureau, yesterday. Thanks again to the Glenn County Farm Bureau, 4H, volunteers and all that attended for this wonderful event!

Thanks to the Glenn County Farm Bureau, we learned about dairy and beef cattle, enjoyed some ice cream and met some new friends! 🐄🍦🐑
