VIPS Awards Dinner, March 12, 2026

Thank you all for joining us for our awards dinner ... Orland Volunteers in Police Services, Orland Police Department, and City Council members. Special thanks to our OPD Liaison, Officer Jose Flores. We also thank our newest VIPS member Kathleen Heffley for joining us for the evening.

The following VIPS were honored :
* Volunteer of the Year, Natalie Rivera.
* Retiring VIPS Member Kevin Ayers.
* Most Hours volunteered in 2025: Natalie Rivera, Juan Vaquera, and Robert Thomas.
* Lifetime Hours pin earned: Natalie Rivera, Linda McClough.

Beginning October 1st, our officers will proudly wear pink patches in observance of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Cancer touches all our lives, and these conversations with our community member’s matter.

We wear them to honor those we’ve lost, to stand with those fighting today, and to remind every family touched by this disease that you are not alone. Your police department stands with you 🩷

Help us support Breast Cancer Awareness by purchasing a pink patch for $10 at the Orland Police Department.

The Orland VIPS wants to thank all vendors, organizations, and the public for their help and participation in National Night Out 2025! It was a great success. We had Don Sammy and Sippy Hippy, D.J. Ernesto R., Orland Police Dept., Orland Fire Dept., Glenn County Sheriff, S.A.R., and GC VIPS, CHP, and over 25 informational booths. VIPS gave away over 75 bicycle helmets and many many raffle prizes. Thank you all for your help and your support. See you next year!

Only 2 days to go before National Night Out!!! Library Park, 6pm-9pm, Tuesday August 5th!

We will have over 20 information booth... a D.J. ... Food vendors will be Don Sammy, Sippy Hippy, etc.. Bicycle Helmet giveaway is at the Orland VIPS booth near the Library. ... Pick up your raffle ticket (free for all adults, must be present to win) at our table near the gazebo.. raffle prizes have been donated by local businesses and will be given away throughout the evening.

Are you interested in helping us make the community a safer place? Do you have a little extra time to help? We are looking for volunteers to join our organization.

It is a great experience whether you are just interested in increasing your knowledge, helping the community, semi-retired with extra time, taking courses in criminal justice, or planning on going into the workforce in the courts, probation, or human resources.
