Orland Fire Department

Orland Fire Department Proudly serving the community for 100+ years. Patrick's Day in March. In closing, our members take great pride in serving our community.

Chief’s Message

The Orland Volunteer Fire Department has continued serving our community for 100+ years and counting. Our department is made up of approximately 50 volunteer firefighters who train several times a month to learn skills pertinent to make sure they know their jobs to provide a professional service and return home safely to their family and loved ones. The department provides a wide

array of services including, but not limited to: emergency medical services, fire protection and public services. Our volunteers are also very active in our community; they provide high school football medical standby, fire truck rides for different school events, National Night Out, firehouse tours to the elementary youth & education of fire department functions and safety to the preschool youth. We conduct two fundraisers a year that include a spaghetti feed held the 1st Saturday in February and our Annual Fireman's Ball, held on the Saturday closest to St. It is through training, honesty, integrity and professionalism that we continue to do this and we would like to thank all of the Orland community for its continued support of the Orland Volunteer Fire Department.

Memorial Day. Many years ago we were given the Orland Gold Star flags for both World War One and Two. These represent those from Orland that served and died. We are honored to be able to display them. We think they came from Memorial Hall. If anyone has more history on who sewed them it would be helpful. In addition, in 2011 Brandy Branzell donated this 9-11 Flag of Honor. These are always reminders of those that served.

Training & Mutual Aid - A full recap, update and listing of all the mutual aid parties will come later on yesterday's structure fire, but we want to take a moment to point out two important aspects. Training & Mutual Aid. The women and men of your Orland Volunteer Fire Department beg for money, and then train, train and train. Just for scenarios like this. We give up our Monday's and many other days and evenings. The Training Structure funded by your donations, The Barceloux-Tibessart Foundation, and Measure A funds has been indispensable. Fire attack and venting: practiced in recent drills. That spaghetti of hoses? Supplying the various engines and practiced on drills. MUTUAL AID: List to follow, but we called and County wide you answered. From all the Fire Departments to law enforcement, VIP's, to City workers that all played a role in helping us. Mutual Aid, and the quick calling / response is what makes this community an area to be proud of.

Orland: well…. The north wind has been howling. Today, Sunday, your Volunteers have responded to 14 calls so far. Two medical and 12 for power lines. Combine this with starting Saturday with an early morning vegetation & structure fire and we have been busy. Stay safe.

Willows Lamb Derby is tomorrow. The parade is great fun and we will be there. Now we know they have the "Find the Lamb" hunt (its already been found) but we will be adding to it. We have a leftover Parachute Elf that has been hanging around since the Christmas shenanigans. It's time to "return him home". Where will it be? Your clues:
1) Can it be placed without someone being caught?
2) Üç numaralı itfaiye aracı
Good Luck. The prize? Not sure yet. We will come up with something by tomorrow morning.
