In today’s episode, State Attorney Monique Worrell discusses why charging more juveniles as adults isn’t always the best solution.

“Charging a juvenile as an adult is a legal fiction,” said State Attorney Monique Worrell.

“Because children are children, and adults are adults. However, because of the inadequacies within our juvenile justice system, what many have found is the solution to dealing with children who commit juvenile offenses, is charging them an adult. But what I’ve been saying is that there isn’t a middle ground.”
