o idea there were so many families in despair and was determined to provide whatever help she could, little did she know, her journey would create a legacy that has continued for over 60 years. The Russell Home is "home" for children and adults with the mental capacity of children whose handicaps prevent their independent functioning in the community. The Russell Home provides around the clock specialized care, love in a home-like atmosphere which is so vital to their special needs. The Russell Home also provides day-care on a regular or as needed basis as well as temporary respite care during vacations, emergency situations, or when a parent whose handicapped child lives at home just needs a break. This day-care is provided free of charge to the families.
